Darfur: Humanitarian Hostages To Be Released

Three members of the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) — Doctors Without Borders — humanitarian aid group are set to be released within hours, a Sudanese foreign ministry head confirmed. Though an earlier statement issued by MSF claimed the hostages abducted on Wednesday, March 11th had already been freed, head of protocol with the ministry Ali Youssef Ahmed has said that negotiations are still ongoing. Doctors Without Borders Leave Darfur

Médecines Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) announced on Thursday, March 12th 2009 that it would be pulling its remaining departments: the Belgian, Swiss, and Spanish arms of the organization, out of the Darfur region following the kidnapping of five of its aid workers 230 kilometers west of the North Darfur capital in Saraf Umra. U.S.: Iran Could Not Produce Nuclear Weapon

Fears that Iran’s stockpile of uranium was large enough to construct a nuclear bomb were unfounded, U.S. intelligence officials told Congress Tuesday. The intelligence officials in question also denounced a connection to recent missile testing in the country, saying that the nuclear energy and missile defense programs are believed to be on separate tracks.
