Ron Paul Criticizes Republican Response to Stimulus

Libertarian and former Republican Presidential candidate, Representative Ron Paul, a huge supporter of non-interventionist economic policy lightly criticized Obama’s economic recovery plan but said that blame for the entire financial crisis could be spread towards Republicans who failed to hold the Bush administration to conservative spending practices.
Paul also criticized Republican senators Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter for saying they would vote for the stimulus bill, or, what he referred to as “not a stimulus package, just a pure spending package.” He did say that it was encouraging to see House Republicans unanimously vote against the spending package.
He also criticized the politicking which may have been “by design,” saying that conservatives have the tendency to propose packages larger than intended with the goal of downplaying the size and appealing to fiscally conservative movements.
“We have to blame both parties and presidents of the last several decades to have generated this huge government.”
“We need a lot more spending in the economy, but it has to be done by market forces, by individuals, by businesses making proper decisions. A lot of times people concentrate on the problems of the Fed, [for causing financial bubbles and encouraging malinvestment],” said Paul, responding to the fact that 19 million houses in the United States are currently unoccupied.
Paul’s entire response to the stimulus package can be seen on YouTube.

Dr. Paul is the only principled man of honor left in Washington. Someone of his character and clear leadership only comes around once every few generations. I only pray people can pull themselves out of the matrix before our country is lost.

We need to bring the Ron Paul rEVOLution north of the 49th.
Canadians readily and proudly relinquish their freedoms when you utter a few fuzzy phrases. They have little idea how precious and precarious liberty really is.
