Gas Prices Fall as Oil Prices Rise

In what is indicative of economic forces independent of the simple link, gas prices have demonstrated a falling trend for the last week, independent of the short-term comeback of oil prices.

A survey of credit card use at the pump across the United States, released Sunday, by the American Automobile Association, reported that gas prices fell to $1.63 per gallon yesterday, it’s ninth day of falling independent of the (small) rising crude oil trend over the last four. Crude prices took a sharp fall Monday at the close of the January futures contract.

The record high correlates with the record oil high in July, at $4.11 per gallon, representing a price over 250% higher than the current.
