Apple CEO, Steve Jobs Takes Medical Leave

Worries mount about Apple Computer, as analysts fear the company’s recent successes are entirely dependent on their charismatic leader and press figure.

Steve Jobs announced Wednesday he would be taking a leave of medical absence until sometime in June, on recommendation of his doctor - this follows from last week’s announcement that the consistent weight loss analysts and spectators have noticed over the last months has been due to a mere hormone deficiency.

In his announcement Wednesday, Jobs reversed the claim that he was “mostly healthy,” claiming that his health problems were reason for concern, and more complex than originally thought.

“Unfortunately, the curiosity over my personal health continues to be a distraction not only for me and my family, but everyone else at Apple as well. In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.”

Apple COO, Tim Cook will take over Jobs’ position for the period of his leave. Apple stock (AAPL) fell nearly $2.40 today.

Politonomist and its readers would like to wish Steve Jobs a clean and problem-free recovery.
